Greetings fellow internet beings!
It certainly has been awhile. What can I say? I've been keeping busy! Seeing friends, participating in the preferred Twin Cities method of transportation (biking), and of course, working. Speaking of, I start work at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival bright and early tomorrow morning and HOLY PICKLES AND WHIPPED CREAM am I excited. I've tried on my costume a few times already, which consists of a skirt, blouse, headscarf, and, of course, a corset. I find myself saddened every time I have to remove this piece of work and return to the mundane ways that make up modern living. Thankfully tomorrow morning and every weekend for the next seven weeks I will become the British peasant girl that I've always desired to be, hawking my wares in the most offensive and obnoxious ways possible. (I sell lemonade, which provides endless opportunities for catchy tunes about "my lemons"). I even screamed "Huzzah!" once while doing dishes at my other job at Potbelly, and my boss yelled at me for being a nerd. I'm hoping nerdiness isn't a fireable offense.
In other news, I've been participating in copious amounts of shopping with all the new cash I've been pocketing and to prepare for the imminent school year, and have bought so much cool new stuff that I have had to rearrange my entire closet to accommodate. Expect plenty of new outfit posts when the fall rolls around, and I actually mean it this time. Anywho, check out some of the stuff in my life:
I ordered this backpack from Forever21.com after seeing it in the store and falling head over heels, coincidentally they were having a deal for free shipping on any orders over $25 at the same time. I decided it was meant to be. Zebras are a muse of mine, and I loved the fact that on the website it was listed as a "Zebra Print Backpack." Unlike the striped backpacks that Ugg-wearing girls with PINK across their asses wear, this backpack is literally zebra. print.
THIS JACKET.
This marvelous, Picasso inspired piece of wonder that I found at TurnStyle Consignments is now my own
I did this painting yesterday and it reminds me of Starry Night, but with a very special Charlie twist. Moony night? I dunnoooo
The aforementioned closet, all freshly reorganized and loaded with new purchases. I can't wait for it to get cooler out and I can start building outfits, I already have so many awesome ideas
I also ended up taking my dresses out and moving them to the curtain rod that separates my room from my sisters, I like it quite a bit better and have so much more closet space now
And on top of all the other awesome things happening, the folks are remodeling the basement and I got to move this beauty to the foot of my bed! I've never had a TV in my room before, and it's pretty sweet. Late night Netflix documentaries here I come!
Oh yeah, and if that bag wasn't cool enough already for you I added some of my riot grrrl buttons.
GURL POWER YO
Just for shits and giggles, some mirror shots with people I love. Me looking like a hobbit with Wendy in TurnStyle and Mark about to do something terrible to me in Target
And of course, to top it all off, a sand submarine.
Cause, well, it's a fucking sand submarine
I suppose that's about it, keep living your fabulous lives and inspiring me. And if any of you happen to stop by the Minnesota Renaissance Festival during one of the next seven weekends, well, do as the title says and "COME GET ME LEMONS!!" (said in an extremely Scottish accent of course)
Oh yeah I almost forgot, if you haven't seen Moonrise Kingdom yet go do it. NOW.
