I could use a haircut.....

'Twas fairytale day at school on Friday. I went as the water fairy, seeing as it would have been slightly difficult to go as my true form: the mermaid.

Earrings: Claire's
Necklace: Handmade (charm from random antique shop)
Cami: Marshall's
Cardigan: DEB

Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles.....

A hot spring day after a tedious marching band rehearsal calls for only one thing: bubble tea.
The crew and I went to a new place that recently opened up in town: much cheaper, tastier, friendlier, and ultimately CUTER than any of the other places.
My flavor recommendation if you've never had the glorious ball-filled liquid?

Kawaii Means Cute!

I could probably kill for this book.
Probably.

Will Probably Never Stop Changin'

So...uh...once again....I have changed the title and logo of my blog. As much I liked and was proud of the old one:

Something just didn't sit right with me about it. Not to mention I couldn't match the rest of the layout to it for shit....

I was doodling in class one day and drew up the simple yet adorable bird falling in love with the soda. It matched my quirky personality, but also fit with the cuteness of the blog. (Also goes nicely with the little "bird and french fry picture, don't cha think?) So huzzah! I have found my new logo:

I like being thought of as A Clockwork Mermaid. But a part of me wanted to name the blog, not myself. I was thinking one day about what I would name the memoir of my teenage years if I ever wrote one (which, DUH, I will, seeing as I'm going to famous!) and the word Honeydew just popped into my head. I don't recall ever tasting a honeydew. Or even knowing what it was for that matter, until a trip to google jogged my memory. But somehow, someway, it seemed to fit.

So one day I thought "Hey, why couldn't my blog be called HoneyDew?" It's basically a day-to-day recollection of me making my way through life. These years are important ones; I'm learning, discovering, laughing, and just living peacefully in that awkward phase between a child and a woman. And this life, I dare say, is as sweet as a honeydew must be :)

In between the vomiting.....

No, I'm not cutting class to sneak down to the computer lab and update my blog. I am, however, home sick. That part I don't mind so much, it's nice to have a chance to laze around on the couch once in awhile. The part that really gets me was that the day I had to come down with a fever, the only day of the year thus far, was FIFTIES DAY at school. I had on my cutest A-line summer dress, a belt as wide as the Golden Gate bridge, my hair curled to no end, and was just about to slick on my cherry-red lipstick when wouldn't you know? I collapse with a migraine and start vomiting all over the place. I had to reassure my mom that "no, I was not drinking last night," brush out my curls (the saddest part), and hop in the bathtub. Oh, and miss the 8:00 bell of course. But that was a given ;) Anyway, to cure my boredom and please the general public, I'm here to blog. And post a stupid picture that cracks me up every time I see it.

Oh yeah, and here's a nice fashion quote straight from my personal life: "CHARLIEEEE are you wearing a tube top around your waist again?!"

That will be all.

New Orleans Photo Dump

FINALLY have gotten around to sorting through and posting the highlight photos from my February band trip to New Orleans (when I say highlights, I mean it. I took close to 300 total pictures). The photos also include the unplanned fact that there was a blizzard in Minneapolis the night we were supposed to be flying in, so we were stranded in Denver for an extra night and had to take a bus home. Which took another 20 hours. So folks, prepare for a long post.

(her shirt said the name of our school on it- it was too cool a picture not to include)
