Don't Leave Meee!!!

Well it's opening week for the show and we're working our fingers to the bone trying to tie all the ends together. DON'T LEAVE ME!! I promise you I'll be back up and posting as soon as the play ends, which is on Sunday. It opened on Thursday and the first two shows went really well!! My hooker antics seemed to charm the audience quite a bit. We have two more shows tonight and tomorrow night: wish me a broken leg! But I guess I have to leave you with something, don't I?

This is a chipotle burrito.
Because burritos are my soul.

My apologies, but I can no longer afford to have a social life

Headband: H&M, Sunglasses: Thrifted, Black top: H&M, Red plaid button-down: Dehlia's, Ankh Necklace: Minnesota Rennaisance Festival, Belt: Claire's, Jeans: H&M, Shoes: Target

Whoo, total bedroom revealer right here. The lighting in there was so cool though, I just couldn't resist. Experimenting more with the tripod and lights, whaddya think? I'm really starting to have fun with this!

Oh yes, and even my breakfast is becoming more creative:

I'm Running Away

"If I could wish upon a star I would hitch a cable car to the place that I can always call my own"
~Train

Running away? *sigh* no, not really......but I could use a good trip. Always got the wanderlust, don't I? This happens to be a simple snapshot of one of my favorite places on the planet. And like Train, I would probably use my star wish to take a ride there too. Gotta love the cable cars. Or regular car? My driver's ed classes started this week. Anywho I'll let you get back to your Dreamland, and quit bothering you with my current train of thought (ha get it? Train?).....I'm done.

Been eating far too many burritos lately.
They're good for the soul.

(P.S.- I took that picture of the Golden Gate Bridge. What, you say? No, no you stole it from a $632 coffee table book? AHA! And that is where you would be wrong! Yep, it was taken with my own hand through the ancient digital camera that I used up until a few months ago. Just felt like being a little boasty. And educating you all on the fact that it's utterly impossible to take a bad picture of that bridge, regardless of any other factors.....)

Out.

Looking Like a Cupcake- The Guilty Pleasure of Many

Being a lover of unique food, I find myself in some fascinating situations. Just now for instance, as my loving mother passed me a plate of gooey chocolate chip cookies with..............festive chips O.o They were green and red striped, which is a dead giveaway that I grabbed about three of them. The Japanese believe that the presentation of food is almost as important as it's taste, and I must say that this is one of the many things that I agree with them on.

Speaking of Japanese culture, I'm going to get on with what I really came to write about.......

I'm going to go ahead and assume that you've all seen them- the frilly, lacy, poofy, princessy outfits that Japanese girls and westerners alike don with cutesy pride. I first discovered lolita some few years ago after reading an article about Baby the Stars Shine Bright in Shojo Beat. Not thinking much of it, I later found myself browsing the manga section in Borders when I came across the Gothic and Lolita Bible. I was absorbed in a land of kawaii. I checked the price but sadly did not have a 20 dollar bill in my pocket to spend on the gorgeous mook. That didn't stop me from coming back soon after to purchase the Bible, and I immediately began studying the unique fashion. I learned about the various brands, styles, and other aspects of the "lolita culture." I fell in love with it! Unfortunately, the dresses average about $500 apiece, and being 14 I sadly cannot afford them. But if you're interested, don't fret! I found my own solutions. I own a few tutus, which greatly resemble some of the fancier lolita skirts. I bought one at Hot Topic for around $30, but also found one for $10 in the kids section at Marshall's. I also own several hairbows and wear one almost daily. They can be found cheap in stores like Claire's. Also, if you're a crafty one, the Bible offers templates for making everything from a scarf to a full-out skirt! I remember a lolita fan once describing us as people who "enjoy looking like cupcakes." Care to join?
