My apologies, but I can no longer afford to have a social life

Headband: H&M, Sunglasses: Thrifted, Black top: H&M, Red plaid button-down: Dehlia's, Ankh Necklace: Minnesota Rennaisance Festival, Belt: Claire's, Jeans: H&M, Shoes: Target

Whoo, total bedroom revealer right here. The lighting in there was so cool though, I just couldn't resist. Experimenting more with the tripod and lights, whaddya think? I'm really starting to have fun with this!

Oh yes, and even my breakfast is becoming more creative:

Comin' Home

I always feel like such a generic teen girl when I post pictures of myself at school dances. Aren't I supposed to be an anti-social cave dweller who hates popular, normal-people activities? No. As a matter of fact, I love people, and I love my school. Also, it's fun to stand out in a sea of average at these things. This was one of the most fun photoshoots I've ever done, and now I'm going to bother you with my pathetic teenage-girldom. Put up your estrogen shields. It's gonna be a bumpy ride.

Photo credits go to my mother (a professional portrait photographer), the other parents, and Maddie (the girl in the blue dress who is with me in many photos)

This was homecoming by the way. I think I forgot to mention that earlier.

Legalize MN

Beret: H&M, T-shirt: American Apparel, Leggings: Old Navy, Shoes: Converse

So, first tripod shots! Not bad, eh?
(Even though I look deathly angry in all of the ones that show my face)

So we had a sub for Concert Band today, and after class he comes up to me and says "So, you from California?"
"Nooooo...." I reply
"Oh, well I thought maybe you were 'cause you were wearing a repeal prop 8 shirt."
"Actually I bought this at the Mall of America...."
"Oh....well, it's cool, but it's kinda pointless to wear one in Minnesota 'cause there's nothing we can do about prop 8."
"I was more going for the giant, universal "Legalize Gay" theme rather than the little prop 8 thing....."
"Yeah, yeah I guess I just don't really see the point to try and promote the repeal of prop 8 in this state."
"..........." *lunch bell rings* "Okay I'm leaving bye."

Yeaahhh, personally I find it entertaining to showcase my political beliefs boldy on my clothes, because it makes for interesting conversation (see above). It also ignited an interesting philosophical discussion about the mix of religion and politics with my friend Laura. So many awesome purposes, so little time. I will continue to promote the equal treatment of people in what is known as a free country, and continue to do it on my chest.

I wrote this on my hand today to remind myself to schedule my behind-the-wheel driving classes.
It worked.

Glee Started Last Night

I'm sure you know already, but if you don't, the title says it all. Yes!! My favorite show is back!! I'm ready to be inspired to no avail. If you haven't submitted to Gleeklihood yet, I'd advise you to start now....or forever hold your peace. Speaking of TV shows though, all of my other favorites are back on as well: Castle, Raising Hope, and the Middle and Modern Family start tonight!! Also, I discovered a new show that was on after Glee and I couldn't help but subscribing to it through Tivo. It's called New Girl and I absolutely, positively relate to it in every single aspect. Check it out, if you dare.

Oh, happy news! I found my mother's tripod this morning, meaning that starting tomorrow I will do my best to take some high-quality outfit photos (that is, if I can manage it before 7 AM band class starts). I was unable to start with it this morning, unfortunately, on account of my finding it just before walking out the door. I've yet to formulate a plan, I suppose you'll just have to wait and see. But now, without further ado, outfit:

Plaid button-up: Kohl's (boys section), Yellow tank top: Target, Robot necklace: Etsy, Jeans: H&M, Shoes: Converse

I suppose I'm still in that phase of what they would call a "budding" fashion blogger, meaning my first year or so of figuring things out (*cough* sucking *cough*) and having next to no readers. That's my excuse to try out new styles I guess (of blogging, I meant, but clothes too) so I'm gunna keep playing around with some of the things I do, and hopefully find some stuff I like! But that's the general rule of life, isn't it? The more you learn, the more you grow.

Out.

I'm a Hipster, and I'm Musing

(The title was a total Isabel Slone reference if you didn't pick up on it)

I had a couple outfit photos from the past few days that I regrettably am just now getting around to posting......

Monday's outfit:

Beret and jeggings: H&M, shirt and cardigan: Target, shoes: Heartbreaker

Today's outfit:

Beret: my childhood dress-up box, scarf and sandals: thrifted, shirt: Ragstock, cardigan: Target, jeans: H&M, suspenders: Hot Topic

My sincerest apologies for the double outfit post, but I've found it has become increasingly harder to update my blog regularly. I've been trying harder to photograph my outfits and post them on a day-to-day basis, but it has become much more difficult, what with theater, and the fact that I am currently managing to take seven classes a day, the latter including: College Prep Chemistry, Advanced Placement World History (which is essentially a college class), Advanced Algebra, French 2, Honors English, and two band classes, one of which begins at 7 AM. I am now relying solely on coffee and Sudafed to keep me alive, but I promise to keep the whining on the D.L. and continue to try my best.

On a happier note, I was talking with my dear friend Olivia yesterday (one of my favorite fashionistas, I daresay) and I seemed to get her hooked on the idea of starting her own fashion blog, which may or may not function as a sort of sister blog to HoneyDew. We would collaborate on our outfit photography, meaning I would finally be able to do away with the dreadful mirror shots (assuming I don't scavenge up a tripod by then), and also collaborate on our shoes collections, now that we've discovered we have have the exact same size feet. More updates on that in the near future, and also my homecoming pictures are soon to come (haha, funny on my part...kind of a pun there.....don't get it? oh....okay...) Stay tuned, if you dare, but for now have yourself a goodbye.
