Consumed By Guilt....

I admit it. I'm terrible. I'm NOT dead, though I probably have many of you thinking otherwise. I promise that sooner or later I'll stop by for a long update, add some pictures from the lovely New Orleans (which, by the way, turned out to be the trip of a high school lifetime), and talk random stuff again. But for now, Adieu.

Oh and by the way, I turned 15 on the eleventh ;) GETTIN' OLDER GUYS!

Got a short one today, guys. I suppose I just wanted to brag about the fact that I'm going to New Orleans on thursday with my high school's concert band! I play the alto saxophone, and I've been looking forward to this trip for months. I promise photos when I get home, and if you don't get any, nag me :P Anyways, that's all I really had to say.

The Return of Ms. Mermaid

Yes, go ahead....punish me. I'm terrible at being consistent. I wake up every morning and usually think something about posting, but then I get caught up in the wonders of the day and, what do you know, it's over. Actually, I SHOULD be sleeping right now, but you'll all come to learn that I'm somewhat of an insomniac. At least my life hasn't been boring while I was away, in fact, just the opposite! Second semester started at school, bringing with it a rearranged schedule, a new teacher, and a lot of new friends. I really am starting to love going to school, even if I am still just a lowly freshman. Now what else happened? Hmmm....well...let's think.....OH YEAH! I got into Grease! My audition went smoothly, along with the callbacks, and I landed myself a role in the ensemble. Disappointed? Not in the least! There were no freshmen cast into roles outside the ensemble, and I'm perfectly content with being in the background for most of the scenes, singing, and dancing. Even if acting is my forte, it's only my first year of high school. Gotta start somewhere, right? Anyway, it's pretty exciting. I would invite you all to the show buuuuut that would entail giving away the name of my high school, and that's not something that was neccessarily on my agenda. Perhaps when I'm rich and famous ;)

On another note, I thought I would go ahead and blog a little about the movie that I FINALLY got out to go and see today! I'd been wanting to see Black Swan since the minute I read a magazine article about it, and I will say that it most certainly lived up to my expectations.



The movie follows ballerina Nina as she is cast as the Swan Queen in Swan Lake, and proceeds to "become" the Black Swan as her character does in the show. It was a psychological thriller, which is definately one of my favorite kinds of movies. Being an avid horror movie lover, I enjoyed the suspense and darkness that was present throughout the entire film. It's one of those stories that bounces in and out of reality, where you can almost be driven crazy just by watching it. I won't say that it didn't have me cringing at some of the bloodier parts (I have sensitive nails, ok?), but it was definately worth it. Not to mention Natalie Portman was FANTASTIC.



The Black Swan costume was gorgeous; I won't deny that I've always been a fan of ballet dresses. Tutus make regular appearances in my every day outfits :)

I love the fact that something so terrifying spawned from something so beautiful- it made the whole movie much more enjoyable in the visual aspect

Kawaii websurfings to brighten the winter darkness

Well since I'm sure you're all dying to know, I'll just come right out and say that NO we did not win. In fact we did not even place...>.> But failure is a part of life, and we far from failed :) Ours probably got the most laughter and I personally felt that it was the best. Not to mention I got to spend plenty of quality time with my favorite people and spy on cute guys from other cities. GodDAMN I have the greatest life ever! Well anyway, it all ended well :)

Oh yeah, this is random but I also read today that Lady Gaga is making a perfume that smells like blood and semen. She's a goddess to me, but, alas, even I have trouble understanding that woman sometimes.......

My apologies for the long hiatus. I've been somewhat stressed in both my academic and personal lives, and unfortunately blogging takes a back seat to all those problems. Sooooo if you haven't yet noticed....I really like blacks and reds. My favorite shoes are my red Converse which I've had since seventh grade (they're being held together by hot pink duct tape), and most of my shirts and skirts are either of these colors. I feel comfortable in them, not to mention they're some of the most attractive colors (hey, black is slimming!). But no need to talk your ear off on that, how about something a little more interesting like my life? Here's some good news: finals are OVER! We got today and tomorrow off from school because of this joyous event, which happens to coincide with, you guessed it, my One Act competition! Our school is hosting, so I've been working all day since we don't perform until tomorrow. But that's just one of the many excuses to be with my favorite people in the world. Well, wish me luck for tomorrow! Actually for a broken leg, 'cause you all know that it's bad luck to say good luck in the theatre! ;) Goodnight!



Artistic yet comfortable, the sweet sweet combination

Seeing as fashion is somewhat of an interest for me at the moment, and a high percentage of this blog seems to revolve around the topic (it's clearly stated in the subtitle- huh who knew?), I thought I'd go ahead and share what I wore to school today. What I was going for was a neutral base with a pop of neon- kaboom! And also to compliment those lovely earrings I decided to don on my earlobes today. See for yourself:

I adore these earrings! Peacocks are by far my favorite birds, I admire their feathers for the natural beauty and color. I rarely find a chance to wear these since they're so big and eccentric, but when I can coordinate an outfit around them it's lucky for me indeed!

A great buy from the Renaissance Festival (which is, by the way, one of my favorite places in the world). The Pentagram is a symbol of my love for the ideals of the Wiccan religion, even though I am not a hardcore practicer and follower, I like to incorporate some of the ideas of it and the magick into my daily life. The Pisces symbol is because, obviously, I am a proud Pisces. 

The bracelet is from Las Vegas and was given to me by my grandparents. I love the peace sign, I think it shows that I am a big supporter of peace and non-war. Also it's HOT PINK and SPLATTER PAINTED. What more could I ask for? Oh yes, the flower ring was given to me by my lovely boyfriend Sam who found it and thought it was pretty. It is Sammy, it is :) The other is a SillyBand bunny. How cute!

Ok, I love Sanrio, but honestly, who couldn't? My favorite character is Cinnamoroll. When I saw that McDonald's was giving away these watches in their Happy Meals, I simply had to have one. Chococat 

is adorable. The ring is also from the Festival. You can't see from the picture, but their are tiny intricate designs carved into the leather. My best friend wears a matching one.

New Trend that I love: The Beret!

So I usually don't follow mainstream trends, in fact a lot of them are so repulsive that I run screaming from them like the plague. The thing that saddens me is that most trends nowadays are just so lacking in creativity and expression (jeans tucked into Uggs, anyone?). But sometimes I find a trend that's right up my alley and I need to try it. The best fashion advice I could ever give is not to conform. Don't do things that you don't like because they're "In," do things that you like specifically because you like them, and if one of those things happens to be a trend then go for it anyway. Sounds cliche, doesn't it? Yet so many teenagers are too afraid to do it. Anyway, back to what I was really going to write about. Knit berets are really popular with girls these days, especially at my school. They're very artsy and an appealing product of the hipsters (which, ok, I have definately been referred to as). I own two wool berets and I like them a lot, but after seeing the knit ones I just had to give it a try. Not to mention it completely compliments my hairstyle. So to dress up any outfit, just add a beret! They come in neutral colors like black and gray, but I've seen wild ones like bright purple and pink. My school used to have a strict anti-hat policy, but they now allow us girls to wear these in class because they're "formal" and "professional looking" Perfect for a bad hair day, eh?

Bedsheet: The Hottest Trend of 2011

Boredom ignites my creativity in ways nothing else ever could. I believe these are from last spring. I had a bedsheet, a sister, a camera, and too much spare time. So voila! I become a clothing designer. I'm sure now the runways will be filled with bedsheet-clad models, all while the lone blogger fails to recieve any credit. Hmmm. Gabriela also appears to have some modeling talent (she's definately tall enough). My personal favorite is the second from the top, mostly because I was somehow able to create that little hat. It just works. The sullen expression she wears in the third one compliments the matronly simplicity of that design. My sis knows her stuff. Ooooh do I spy an orb in the fourth one? I believe the spirits like my designs as well.
